Tesla Model S Premier in Menlo Park
Tesla Motors invited me to attend the exclusive premier of their Model S electric car at their Menlo Park store on April 8, 2009. The Tesla Roadster is the only performance electric vehicle currently for sale. It has a range of 244 miles and goes from 0 to 60 mph in under 4 seconds on electricity alone. But it's an expensive niche-market vehicle. Now they are preparing to enter the mainstream market with what could be the first mass-produced highway-capable electric vehicle, the Model S luxury sedan.
